My Blather On.... "Confusion...." March 31st

Military 'Jargon' Confuses Me     Are you confused as well.... about Special Forces , Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Army Rangers ?   I have a step -son and dear friend~ although we rarely see each-other ~who EARNED a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star as an Army Ranger during the " Battle of Mogadishu.   It never occurred to me to ask him!!  I  was under the impression that the term " Special Forces " was little more than a header and the others fell under that category... Not So !!     I found an article on Twitter that cleared the whole situation up for me... as the author explained how " Special Forces " respond to- and overcome- adversity: 1.  Prepare, Prepare, Prepare 2.  Creativity Isn't Nice It's Essential 3.  Cooperate and Negotiate 4.  Be A Teacher 5.  Be Motivated--Then Make A Plan Read the entire article then try to say "you got it tough!!!"   That's all I got. My Blather On... Exercise....? March 30th

Working Back Into My Routine     Back in November I started winding-down on my exercise routine... tho' not by choice.  The then-upcoming 'global warming' season would leave me with sometimes up to 30 inches of the stuff to shovel off the driveway.  If I had continued with my regimen my local Planet Fitness gym, I'd have been too wore-out to shovel.     My usual daily routine goes thus: 3:30AM -Up 'n' at'em; fasting glucose check; start first of the day's 3 pots'a coffee. 3:45AM -Set up WBAP-AM on the laptop; set up Scottrader 'Streaming Quotes' for the day; have my first 'bowl'.... I still smoke a pipe, gave up ciggies years back; make sure "everything's where I left it" last night at the 'last bowl' of the day. 7:00AM -Deliver 'The Boss' to her daily 'grind,' arrive at PF a coupl'a minutes later. 8:15 , 8:30AM -Back home; lots more coffee; check emails; check 'our' stocks&#

My Blather On... Choices Are Tough! March 23rd

So Far, 'Tough' Is Between Cruz, Walker     Sometime this morning [03/23] Senator Ted Cruz is expected to announce his candidacy to end the current socio-fascism of " Clown Prince " obama and his ilk.  Mr Cruz ' resume is to die for.... politically speaking, after having suffered a constitutional lecturing grad student for nearly eight years!     Governor Scott Walker [R-Wi] too has some pretty impressive accomplishments to his credit; particularly being a conservative AND elected three-times [including his recall] in a socialist state!!  Check out these two "resumes'" and see what'cha think.  They look to me to be a viable " one-two punch " that would be unbeatable in a sane world !!  The only decision then left would be "who's at the top of the ticket?"  I see Senator Cruz as a judicial "Whiz-Kid," having convinced the US Supreme Court in some pretty important cases.  I see Governor Walker ~ between the tw

My Blather On... Transparency and FOIA; March 18th

The " Clown Prince " "Rasputin" Jarrett Is At It Yet Again! " Clown Prince " obama announced~ and published ~the Valerie Jarrett order instructing The Office of The (p)resident to ignore the Freedom of Information Act(FOIA)~ more to the point ~forget it ever existed: "The Executive Office of the President, Office of Administration, is removing regulations from the Code of Federal Regulations related to the status of records created and maintained by the Executive Office of the President." " What'ta Hell, Mel ?!?"  The FOIA regulation was expressly formulated for~ and ONLY pertains to ~the Executive Branch of the federal government and now they just arbritrarily get to ignore it; get to say they... ain't gonna tell you what bullshit they're up to; ain't gonna tell you what liberties they're gonna take away from you; ain't gonna tell you that they're gonna  continue fixing elections and o

My Blather On... Military vs Congressional Retirement; March 17th

G.I.s Getting Screwed [At the outset, I gotta admit that I'm all about FAIRNESS, particularly when it comes to ALL BRANCHES of the military.  If a conflict exists, I tend to err on the side of said Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines!! * Full Disclosure : I was an Air Force member for nearly 13 years, an Army Reserve member for 5 years.]     Remember all that 'Sequester' bullshit in late 2013?!? The most important among us is still~ and will, well into the future ~feeling the affects. One area of contention was reducing some Defense Department budget items.  The item most easily defensible by the ' Congressional weanies ' is military pay, retirement pay and benefits.  Most ' weanies ' have a small to non-existant military constituency so very few VOTERS in their district to whom said ' weanie ' must defend his decisions and actions. Said 'bullshit' was more a "do as I say, not as I do" kinda scenario:  reductions in the ra
